1st Battalion Devonshire Regt
who fell in the sevice of his country
during the final repulse of the Boer Attack
on Wagon Hill, Ladysmith,
on Jan 6th 1900.

This tablet was erected by his Father, Brothers and Sisters.

for many years Commissioner
of Peshawur in the Punjab, India.
born 12 January 1827,
died 24 December 1899

28th Oct 1916, aged 33 years.
