At the side of the Altar is the Aumbrey. This is a steel safe lined with gilded cedar wood, where the Bread of Holy Communion is kept for Adoration, Communion and the Last Rites. The door is covered with a hand-made copper and silver outer door.
The Aumbrey was given in memory of a young server who died in 1932. |

Above the Aumbrey hangs an anitique gilded Lamp - constantly lit - by which we recall the Presence of our Lord in the Bread consecrated at the Altar.
The Lamp was given as a memorial to Canon David Diamond, Rector of St. Paul's Deptford. This is where Fr Paul Williamson served his title as a Curate. |
